QuickBooks Money Contractors Migration:

Giving 3M+ users a new home, across a multi-tier ecosystem.

DISCLAIMER

QuickBooks is Intuit's financial platform for businesses—a complex, multi-layered SaaS ecosystem spanning accounting, payroll, and managing money across products, tiers, and legacy systems. My work focused on the 'managing money' domain—helping users with banking, payments, and loans. QuickBooks is primarily web-based with companion mobile apps. (QuickBooks underwent a major UI refresh in November 2025; this case study reflects the prior version.)

SUMMARY

The business said just migrate. I redesigned the system. One modular experience for 3M+ contractors across every QuickBooks tier—zero escalations.

This was a systems design problem wearing a migration costume. QuickBooks was sunsetting its contractor tax portal, and 3M+ contractors needed a new home—during tax season, with zero tolerance for error.

I designed a modular experience on QuickBooks Money: one workflow system that flexed across all user types, intents, and moments. I led the IA decision on where tax workflows should live, redesigned tax data collection, pushed for quality improvements often overlooked, and directed a visual-led transition that kept everyone moving without panic.

Impact: zero escalations, 34% better task completion, 51% higher invite conversion, and a Tax Forms tab modular enough to serve every QuickBooks tier.
